Our Church's Wider Mission is healing and teaching, worshiping and seeking justice, saving lives, restoring hope, showing the light and love of God. Each United Church of Christ congregation is invited to financially support Our Church's Wider Mission--invited and urged to be a part of God's mission beyond the local community. With your church's participation, Our Church's Wider Mission can come closer to fulfilling God's mission. And by being a part of Our Church's Wider Mission, your congregation can come closer to being all that God intends it to be. What do Our Church's Wider Mission $ Do? Let's follow the dollars. For every $100 your church gives to OCWM: $72.00 Stayes right here in the Nebraska Conference and its Associations! Combined with the contributions of other congregations and individuals this amount helps to provide: Conference Resource Room Staff leadership and direct services with our 98 congregations in six associations in pastoral searches, support for clergy and lay leaders in times of crisis, a pastoral presence in worship leadership, church anniversaries, installations, ordinations, Church and Ministry Committees and Association Councils; Programing support for Christian education, stewardship, outreach, mission projects and local church issues; Confirmands at Kaleo Outdoor Ministry with persons of all ages at Kamp Kaleo; Youth Ministry programs with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Nebraska (CCN) in youth zones across the Conference and the CCN Region; Justice and peace ministries for advocacy for the poor and victims of discrimination; education, information and advocacy for ministry with persons with disabilities; Education for Lay Ministries (ELM), the School for Congregational Leaders, continued education for clergy through Minister's Monday, Winter Clergy Convocation and Clergy New to Nebraska in a partnership with CCN through Cotner Continuing Education Commission; Ecumenical projects that support United Ministries in Higher Education (UMHE), Interchurch Ministries of Nebraska (IMN), Rural Life Crisis Council, and Personal Integrity in Ministry; An ongoing partnership with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana; and MUCH more! $28.00 goes to the National Setting of the United Church of Christ. Here our gifts support ministries that reach from local churches in our Conference communities to around the globe, like these: National United Church of Christ Office, Cleveland, Ohio Global mission ministries that partner with others in sharing the good News of Jesus Christ around the world; Development of excellent local church resources for Christian education, worship, lay leadership training Amistad Chapel Cleveland, Ohio and more; Advocacy in our nation's capital for justice, peace and care of creation; New church funding and leadership training; And MORE!
