The Board of Governors, the Principal, the staff and indeed the entire Evangelical Presbyterian Seminary community recognize with passionate pride and acknowledge with a deep sense of gratitude the invaluable service and contributions rendered to the E.P. Church in general and in particular the Evangelical Presbyterian Seminary over the years by: THE NEBRASKA CONFERENCE OF THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, USAThe Nebraska Conference of the United Church of Christ, USA, became friend and partner in mission with the Evangelical-Presbyterian Church, Ghana, and especially its Seminary, formally in 1995. But the real partnership in mission began shortly after Rev. Jane Abra Ellefson arrived at the Seminary in 1991. Before Jane could even settle for work at the Seminary her home church's Women's Fellowship voted to send $800 each year to aid her in her ministry of starting a Church Music Department at the Seminary. Most of the money went into feeding the students. Another woman member of this same church sent $1,000 after learning that the electric lines to Jane's house were merely bamboo poles. This donation helped to install new poles and new wiring throughout the Seminary. One-by-one Nebraska churches and individuals over the past 15 years became interested in supporting the Seminary. Over 55 people have come on work or study camps to Ghana. And 13 Ghanaian friends have come as visitors to the NE Conference. All of these person-to-person contacts have fed the partnership well. Some of the fruits of this wonderful relationahip are the following:
For over 15 years the Nebraska Conference, with the assistance of the members of the various UCC Congregations, has invested invaluable amounts of time, energy and money in the friendship and partnership. In this connection, we wish to mention the special contributions of the Rev. Clarence "Clip" Higgins, the Rev. Dr. George Worcester, and currently, the Rev. Roddy Dunkerson, who have, over the years, encouraged numerous other pastors and members of the Church in Nebraska to donate generously to ministry within the E.P. Church and to the people of Ghana. Your latest move to install internet technology at the Seminary Library as soon as possible and to continue to upgrade the Library to promote higher education for pastors, musicians and other Church agents has added impetus to our recognition and gratitude for your love of the church's mission and ministry, particularly the growth and development of the E.P. Church, its institutions and personnel. By this recognition and gratitude of the people of Nebraska in general and to the Nebraska United Church of Christ Conference in particular, we will be inspiring and encouraging the Church to emulate the shining example of friendship and partnership in God's mission in the world. God bless the Nebraska Conference of the United Church of Christ, USA
